I’m so excited to offer a small-batch of Mending Tool Kits filled with my favorite mending tools and materials. I’m often asked what mending materials I use and where to find them—I’ve done all that legwork for you in designing these special craft kits.
Each zipper pouch is one-of-a-kind made with beloved studio textiles like indigo-dyed, block-printed, organic cotton; indigo-dyed ikats; selvedge and organic denims; and beautiful fabric remnants from my projects. Each pouch is fully-lined with 100% organic cotton fabric and closes with a fabric/ metal zipper made in the USA.
Tools are thoughtfully-sourced, and whenever possible are low-waste, low-plastic, and biodegradable. These patchwork pouches were lovingly made to showcase beautiful patchwork fabrics and offer high-quality mending materials meant to support your handcrafting journey.
EACH POUCH CONTAINS:
-An original, one-of-a-kind, finished patchwork zipper pouch that measures approximately 8″ x 8″
-Four skeins of 100% cotton Sashiko thread (white, light blue, medium blue, and dark blue)
-Two sturdy, metal Sashiko needles
-A metal thimble
-A small pair of lovely metal scissors
-A custom pocket notebook made in the USA with recycled papers
-A custom (biodegradable) wooden ruler made in the USA
-A beautiful color postcard with a sample mending photo

These pouches were designed by me and sewn locally in the Hudson Valley of Upstate NY. Each pouch offers a sample of beloved fabrics carefully arranged to make a beautiful case for mending tools. This would be a great addition to my book, Mending Matters (Abrams, 2018) or Make Thrift Mend (Abrams, 2021).
